Rules are not meant to be followed, they are meant to be utilized. And sometimes making mistakes is what navigates us deeper into creativity. In the above exposure, Landscape Photographer Shawn Thompson captures an ice pileup at Lake Superior. To get proper exposure of the sky, Shawn covered part of the lens with his hand.
